Frequently asked questions

When is a company 'large'?

Under section 221 (3) UGB when it exceeds two of three limits on two consecutive balance sheet dates: total assets of €25m, revenue of €50m, 250 employees on average. Public-interest entities such as listed companies, banks and insurers always count as large.

Why is there no ranking by revenue?

Amounts from annual accounts stay in the financial report of each company. This page uses only the size class that the register records for the latest filed accounts.

Why is a well-known group missing?

Often the group is organised as a GmbH & Co KG, which we do not list, or its latest accounts are not filed yet. Some groups file at a holding company whose name you would not search for.
