Register barometer: new entries and deletions per month
How many companies Austria gains and loses each month: counted from the register's change feed, by legal form, federal state and district. Made to be quoted, with a source line to copy.
The first month appears once the monthly run has completed. Please check back in a few days.
How we count
The register reports every day which companies were entered, changed or deleted. For each finished month we count new entries and deletions and assign each company, through its profile, to a legal form, a federal state and a political district. The net change is new entries minus deletions. A company entered and deleted in the same month counts in both columns.
Evaluation by firmenbuchdaten.at based on the open data of the register. No amounts, no persons. A month's numbers are computed once and refined for up to 60 days as profiles arrive.
Frequently asked questions
Where do the numbers come from?
From the daily change feed of the Austrian company register: every new entry and every deletion with its date. We read the feed once per finished month and count. Nothing is estimated.
May I quote the barometer?
Yes. Name firmenbuchdaten.at and the register as the source, as in the line under each paragraph. A link helps your readers check the numbers.
Why is a legal form or state missing in a breakdown?
The breakdown needs the company's profile, which we load from the register a few days after the entry. Companies still without a profile count in the totals; the share with a profile is stated on every month page.
Does the barometer show amounts or persons?
No. Only counts: companies, legal forms, federal states and districts. Share capital, annual accounts and the people behind a company stay out.
